Devariya Taal is far
from 260 k.m from haridwar. Name as
shown is meaning of its name .Devo ki taal means : LAKE
FO GODES : Founded by Devariya Baba before 500 years , but its history
olded that 5000 years . Before finding by Devariya Baba its name Yaksh TAAL is
a lake located about 7999 fit from the sari village on the okhi math chopta
road in uttranchal. From sari village you are starting treck for DEVARIYA
TAAL is about 3 k.m from sari village ,
it has covered heavily wooded green surroundins with snow covered
mountains lush ( CHAUKHAMBA IS ONE OF
THEM)in the back drop.
The lake is known for its wide 300degree.p anorma mountain
like CHAUKHAMBA
According to HINDU muthology when PANDVAS going for SWARG
ROHAN they stop their for drinking water , when pandvas stepped ahead for
drinking water the god of the Lake LORD YAKSH appeared before them and told
them to answer his question first before
drinking the water .four pandvas ( ARJUN , BHIM , NAKUL , AND SAHDEV ) refused
to answer his question to the lake of god and drank the water . they died
immediately , when YUDHISTIR came answered the question correctly there by he
rescurrecting the other for pandvas .
On the way to DEVARIYA TAAL their is a popular temple named YAKSHESHWAR MAHADEV TEMPLE. Their is a saying
that when you offer milk to LORD SHIVA in this temple AND pour it on the linga
the milk and water get separated and flow away in snake shapes .it is said the milk goes to SHESHNAG at the
cerfase of the EARTH and water to LORD SHIVA
.
DEVARIYA TAAL is also known for the various species of BIRDS
approximately 330. Till date no one has been able to GAUGE the depth of tke
lake.
Musk DEER is also founded here . this place can be visited
round the year.
